Seated events

Sell numbered seats for a tournament, a final or a show, with prices by zone and by who the ticket is for.

An event can sell tickets in two ways:

  • Open admission: a ticket gets you in, and you sit or stand anywhere. This is how events have always been sold. See News and events.
  • Numbered seats: the buyer picks a seat on a map of the venue, and the ticket names the section, row and seat.

This section is about numbered seats.

How it fits together

  1. Draw the venue once. A seating plan belongs to one of your locations, such as a centre court with two stands, or a hall. It has seated sections with numbered seats, standing areas, and zones such as VIP or Category 1.
  2. Seat an event from the plan. On the event, choose numbered seats, pick the plan, and set what each ticket costs in each zone: adults, children, members, and children on a parent's lap where the venue allows it.
  3. Watch it sell. Members choose their seats on the club website or in the app, and staff sell seats at the till. On the event's live map you see every seat, hold seats back for sponsors, give seats away, and move a ticket to another seat.

At the door, the ticket's QR code is scanned as usual. The door screen shows where the guest sits and what kind of ticket it is, so the steward can check a child's age.

A seat can be sold only once. When a buyer chooses seats, SportyPlus holds them for 30 minutes while they pay. Nobody else can take them in that time, online or at the till.

Plans are reused, events are not affected by later changes

Each event keeps its own copy of the plan. You can keep improving the plan, renumbering a row or adding a stand, without moving a single seat already sold. Until the event's first seat is sold, you can apply the plan to it again to pick up your changes.

Partner clubs

A club that plays at your venue can sell its own seated events from your plans, if you allow it. See Partner clubs.
